Experience an evening in another part of the world, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire presents Skål!, a concert celebrating music by Swedish composers featuring the saxophone.
Curated by RBC saxophonist Emily Plumb, with help from the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain, and inspired by her time studying abroad in Sweden, this concert will delve into the intriguing sound worlds of modern Swedish composers. Treating the audience to modern repertoire that is rarely performed, as well as a specially commissioned piece for Skål! This concert will explore the genres of folk, choral, minimalist, classical, contemporary and improvisation through a variety of chamber music, including a piece for clarinet, baritone sax, trumpet, cello, piano and percussion. The evening involves collaborations with past and present RBC students, alongside musicians from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and including the medium of both live and virtual performances.
