Are you learning the saxophone, got past the basics but not confident to go on a residential course just yet? Then this is the course for you.
WHAT MUSIC WILL I BE PLAYING? A wide range of styles, including blues, folk, jazz, classical and the new music.
WHAT LEVEL DO I HAVE TO BE? Improving beginner – Gr 3-Gr 4/5
This course is suitable for those who have already started learning and can comfortably play tunes. Some ability to read notation needed.
WHAT WILL EACH DAY’S PROGRAMME INCLUDE?
- Playing in a large sax band and smaller groups.
- Workshops to explore breathing and the challenges met in the early stages of learning the saxophone and within group playing.
- Improvisation.
- Choose to play in a performance class.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO PREPARE? No prep needed. Music is provided at CCSC.
WHERE IS THIS SAXOPHONE COURSE TAKING PLACE?
In the amazing location of Cape Cornwall Club (CCC) and Boswedden House, both due West of St Just in Penwith, in the spectacular rugged landscape of Cape Cornwall.
CCC for accommodation, food and main rehearsal space and bar for evening jazz impro.
Boswedden House, a 2 min walk from CCC, for extra rehearsal spaces including use of the beautiful yoga studio for smaller ensembles.
