The Perse School, Cambridge, CB2 8Q
Cambridge Wind Band (CWB) aims to provide a friendly and welcoming music-making environment for adult amateur players. The band was set up in January 2012 to meet the perceived need for a group of this kind in Cambridge and performed its first concert in May of that year. It has since gone from strength to strength! The group plays a wide range of music including classics from the wind orchestra repertoire, transcriptions of film music and TV themes and arrangements of big band favourites and popular music. It is made up of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, double bass and percussion.
We rehearse weekly during school term time, and expect good attendance from our members.
