Bede Wind is a leading community wind band in the North East of England. The band has 50 members and plays a wide range of music. Annually there are performances at the Amphitheatre, South Shields, the Whitburn Prom, and the Christmas concert at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Programme for the early part of 2012 include St Joseph’s RC Church, Fellgate. A fund-raiser for Gosforth Rotary Club. The band was formed by its conductor, Ernest Young. Prospective members are invited come along on a Friday evening to sit-in.
